Building Fire

Around 05:00 Winslow Twp Fire Department was dispatched for a building fire at the US Components Business on Williamstown-Newfreedom Rd. When 2500 responded, he stuck the All-Hands box due to reports of heavy fire showing. He then struck the 2nd Alarm prior to arrival.

On arrival 2500 found an approx. 100x300 masonry building located in the middle of a lumber yard fully involved. Companies immediately went into a defensive attack mode. The 1st Engine from 25-4 and Ladder from 25-3 lead off with their deck guns. The nearest hydrant was more then 3/4 of a mile away. To achieve a sustained water supply multiple engines from Winslow, Waterford and surrounding towns completed the hose lay. Also tankers from Camden, Atlantic, Burlington, and Gloucester counties were used to establish a secondary water supply.

Camden County's ISAT Team was dispatched along with Haz-Mat 8. Numerous portable monitors and elevated Main Pipes were placed in service. The fire went to 5 alarms, and was place under control around 08:00. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Local, County, and State Fire Marshals. With over 60 pieces of equipment operating there was no reported injuries.
